Thank someone who prayed for YOU

How are you doing on your challenge? I just sent out my day 3. To my daddy. I could have written a book to him about all the fatherly and awesome things he's done for me. All the sacrifices he's made for us, all his 6 kids. BUT my message today was thanking him for his prayers for me. My high school days were hard. I wasn't making good decisions. My dad knew it. In his faithfulness he fasted and prayed for me EVERY Friday of my senior year. He has told me about it now later in my life as a testimony and evidence of God's answered prayers.  I do know that God is shaping us everyday and making us who he has created us to be for his glory and he's using others to push us into his arms. I do know too that my life started changing at that time he started fasting. I don't know what my life would have looked like without an earthly faithful father praying me through some of my darkest days.

So if you are thinking of someone to thank... maybe you know someone who has prayed for you. Have you thought of the impact those prayers have made on your life? I am living evidence today of all kinds of answered prayers, for that I am thankful. For the people God put into my life to pray for me when I needed it, and to God for saving my soul. I am thankful.

Here is a simple thanksgiving prayer that I have prayed out loud. Try it. It changes your day.

A PRAYER OF THANKFULNESS FOR GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5

"Dear heavenly Father, this is one of those days in which there’s nothing really grumble-worthy going on in my life. Though I’m sure I could muster up plenty of things to complain about, those things would quickly lose their size and impact, when held up along side of the riches of the gospel. My heart is filled with thanksgiving and praise-offering today, and I want to take time to tell you why, as I pray though King David’s grace-list.

Father, thank you for forgiving all of my sins, through the work of Jesus. May I never take that miracle of grace and generosity for granted. And may this rich standing in grace compel me to greater forbearance, patience and forgiveness towards others.
Father, thank you for healing all my diseases, brokenness, weaknesses. Though the fullness of my healing will require the second coming of Jesus, nonetheless, you are presently healing me spiritually and emotionally, mentally and physically. One Day I, along with all your children, will be completely whole and free. I’ve never longed for that Day more!
Father, thank you for not only pulling me up out of all kinds of “pits”—those of my own choosing and other’s doing, but also for crowning me with your love and compassion. I’m no longer a slave to sin and death, and now, I’m a member of your priestly and kingly people—who reign in life through grace, as we love and serve others. What a privilege!

Father, thank you for satisfying my desires with good things. What do I have that I have not received from you? Absolutely nothing. Thank you for intending my pleasure and for resourcing my delights. You’ve not only given me your love—which is better than life; you’ve also given me so many good things, which greatly enhance life in this broken world.
Things to eat and see, smell and savor, touch and share; things to make me laugh and people to dry my tears; things to sing about and things to quietly ponder. Though my body is getting older, you are continually giving me a youthful, renewed heart, for which I praise and worship you. So very Amen I pray, in Jesus’ exalted and caring name."
