Surgery time and plan

Well here we are, and its time. Tara was just here and we were trying to think of an escape plan to the Bahamas but the reality is there is no running away from this one. I just hugged all my babies goodnight and cried with them telling them it was all going to be ok, and that I have to do this to get better so that soon this can be past us.

 The plan for tomorrow is....

I am the first case for my doc, with an arrival time of 5:30 and surgery scheduled for 7:30. The surgery will be about 6 hours long and I will go right to post surgery recovery where I will stay for 24 hours after. At that time they will send me home if my doc think everything looks good, or admit me if there was some complications that would mean I needed more follow up care.

There is not really one ounce of me that is ready for tomorrow. I am scared of what my new normal will be in just a few hours. The one thing that I do know about going into that OR tomorrow is that God goes before me and he truly knows what the future holds. I am resting in his arms, that is my happy place, until every last bit of this is over.

A few specific prayer request as we go into this are:
-For peace for me, for me to feel calm and not anxious until the drugs kick in
-For the doctors, nurses, ect that will be making huge decisions for me in the next 24 hours
-That my doctor is able to keep the incision below my ligaments in the groin making the incision smaller
-Pray that there will be no surgery complications so that I can come home and recover in my bed (there are SO many possibilities) Pray none of them happen tomorrow or ever
-Pray that the pathology from this surgery will also show NED (no evidence of disease)
-For the kids that they do fine while we are away

Thanks you friends for your prayers and your support I feel the army behind me and its getting me through. I could not do this without you.

The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you

  6. Truth to cling to:

"...my soul is bereft of peace; I have forgotten what happiness is; so I say, “My endurance has perished; so has my hope from the Lord.” Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall! My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

    For the Lord will not cast off forever, but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love;

Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and bad come?

Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord! Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:

“I called on your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit; you heard my plea, ‘Do not close your ear to my cry for help!’

“You have taken up my cause, O Lord; you have redeemed my life. (‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭17-27, 31-32, 37-38, 40-41, 55-56, 58‬ ESV)
