A poem for my sister...
So the waiting ended for a time or maybe it has just begun? Jo is just going through the daily grind of medicine and resting and eating and waiting. Until the next big decision we continue to pray for her physical healing of the wounds. And tonight I ask you to keep praying for her spiritually. Many people don`t understand the spiritual threat physical health places upon the heart of a believer. Pray Jo will win the battle in her mind to trust in Christ alone and fear not. Josie this poem is for you...and for those reading...your reminder to pray, pray, pray. For Christ alone can do the work.
Rise Again
The waiting is here
and its silence is deafening.
Monotonous routine
fills my day and it seems endless.
In these moments I
find myself asking, “Where is the blessing.”
I wish, I wish I could just learn how to
be selfless.
The father of lies awaits
my demise.
But he will rejoice
over me no more.
My Lord, my God you
reveal his disguise.
This is nothing he
hasn’t tried before.
Lord I have fallen
and I am here waiting.
Fallen into this
place of doubting and fear.
Yet YOU have set me
free by grace creating.
And I will rise again
as you come near.
Lord I am sitting in
this darkness.
Thoughts swirling and
head spinning.
Yet you LORD are
my light regardless.
You take me as I am
and give a new beginning.
The waiting is here
and its silence is deafening.
Monotonous routine
fills my day and it seems endless.
In these moments I
find myself asking, “Where is the blessing.”
I wish, I wish I could just learn how to
be selfless.
LORD your goodness I
want to taste
Your freedom I want
to learn to embrace
Fill me now that not
a minute is in waste
And I will rise again
through grace.
Your peace abounds
within my heart
Your patience flows
through my mind
It is Christ alone
giving me a fresh start
I am rising again because
in you I am refined.
Lesley, this is beautiful. What a blessing to Jo and all of us who are praying for her. Thank you. Love, Deb Hagen
